If I could (parody)

Posted in Uncategorized on October 24, 2008 by Stella Chan

If I could sit at your feet,

and listen quietly,

to what you have to share,

would the weight of the world,

lifted from your heart?

If I could hold your hands,

so you can feel the warmth,

and you feel connected,

would you realise how special you are,

and forgive yourself for given up hope?

If I could look into your eyes,

and tell you how wonderful I think you are,

and you can feel my sincerity and compassion,

would you give yourself another chance,

to prove what I’ve already know?

If I could hold you in my arms,

and help the child within,

telling you it’s alright to cry,

would you feel safe and secured,

to feel free to sing and laugh?

If I could do this and more,

to help you see how much you’ve grown,

so to help you heal your broken heart,

would you realise how much you mean to me,

and the depth that our friendship

has touched mine?

If I could , I would , my friend.

Life

What’s the point ?

It is a struggle.

What’s the fuss?

It is just a must.

Complaining and whining,

Gets you nowhere,

Striving and driving ,

Might end you somewhere.

What’s the point ?

It is a must.

Life is to bear on

Death is to lure from.

Driving and striving,

Happiness is to welcome.

When you thought I wasn’t looking

Posted in Uncategorized on October 16, 2008 by Stella Chan

When you thought I wasn’t looking, you almost tear my paper, and I thought I am doing my best.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, you were annoyed and I heard you complaining.
When you thought I wasn’t looking , you gave me a sticker, to convince me that I am mature.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, you put your arms around me, and I felt disturbed.
When you thought I wasn’t looking , I saw tears coming from your eye, and I learned that somethings hurts and it’s stupid to cry.
When you thought I wasn’t looking , you smiled, and you make me think of the possibilities of another mood swing.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, you don’t care and I wanted to be everything you don’t want us to be.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked…and I wanted to tell reality to the things you did when you thought I wasn’t looking.

Sorry.

I CRIED watching these movies T____T

Posted in Uncategorized on October 7, 2008 by Stella Chan

Firstly, AHHHH! That main actor is so suaii~ *typical shoujo ai* :P The story plot is full of twist. It’s unpredictable. *raise both hands* I give it a 5 out of 5!!! KYAAA~~~~ Hey I didn’t know this movie is a hit in school. :P Nod to paulynn and delvene. I watched it when it first come out from streaming site. No doubt, that girl has been through a lot. I think, I THINK, she is a good example to all teenagers. Say NO to abortion!

Next, Cest la vie (1994). Yes yes I am aware that this is an oldie! But come on, its SAD.

The girl die because of cancer. Enough said.

It’s really charming at first…Then…sobsob…later…I cried really hard. “STUPID STUPID how

can she die?! Who is that STUPID

script writer?”

The pianist

Salutes to Roman Polaski! Adrien Browdy makes me understand life of a polish jew.

It’s all too realistic. I watched this movie 4 times and I still wanna watch it again. It’s like watching The kingdom, Gladiator or Three Kings (George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg!!!)

From Homeless to Harvard

I always like Hallmark true stories. Well, I actually think I can be like her. Haha, maybe not. Then again, she makes me wanna push harder. Success comes with no struggle =)

The Illusionist reminds me of Kee Hon. A guy with tough looks but mysterious. Hey I actually think badly of this Edward Norton << in Italian Job. Then he gave me a whole new impression about him in this movie. And I don’t know why guys like Jessica Biel. (dumbfounded)

Anyway, I cried because I somehow realize the story plot before the ending. Mastermind! Details matter ;) I like a good escape. Something like Shakespeare in Love or The Age of Innocence starring Wiwona.

These are all the common movies ppl watch. I should post something about the SICKEST movie I watched. Note : I don’t watch porno.

Herbarium

Tips on pressing plants

You can use masking tape or easy-to-tear tape for the stem, roots or any woody parts of the plant. Make sure the leaves , petals and stems don’t touch each other.

Use blotter or absorbent or tissue for delicate flowers and leaves. It’s hard to remove them from newspaper because they stick onto oily surface like newspaper.

Put something heavy e.g books on top of your plant to press it. Be careful of insects that might want to creep into your pressed plants.

Tips to preserve flower

Put the flower that is pressed for a few days onto a clay container. Then, fill it with fine sand or silica gel (you can get this from the florist). Natural drying would be under the hot sun or light bulb. Microwave drying works well too but the petals will be crispy. So, remember to cool it down before you remove it from the sand. (around 2 hours)

Time needed for pressing and drying flowers depends on their size.

If you iron your plants, make sure you put something on top before you iron. It is obvious that a plant is ironed. The leaves has odd colour and the flowers has watermark. You can’t iron stems unless you want to burn your plant. Therefore, do your project ahead of time.

Identification of plants

http://www.huh.harvard.edu/libraries/databases.htm

The is one good book about bryophytes in Malaysia or Asia Tenggara at DBKU Library. Note that you can identify fern by looking at the sorus and spores.

Another book about grass in school bio lab store.

Don’t bother about ICBN or ICZN website. It’s too troublesome.

www.botany.org. A great site with beautiful pictures and informative bulletin (career perspective and book reviews)

Remember to record everything you need , especially the date and habitat.

Doing herbarium is like painting art. It’s the way you present your work. =) Good luck.

I was happy in my harbour
When you cut me loose
Floating on an ocean
And confused
Winds are whipping waves up
Like sky scrapers
And the harder they hit me
The less I seem to bruise

Another nice song from KT Tunstall–Silent Sea

It’s about doing things that you don’t normally do. Then, you realized how strong it affect you in ways.

It’s also about the things you normally do and how deem small it affect you.

It’s about me doing the chores. Maybe because I want to runway from my books. Maybe because I want to break it to my mom that I used up half the car petrol. Maybe because I feel bad for not doing it any sooner. Or maybe because that I know I am appreciated for my workdone.

It’s about you breaking down. From the guy who said “I love you forever” then “I am sorry”. From the mother who said “you are a mistake”. From the teacher who said “you are impossible”. From the friends who turn you down. But now you are still standing, living up the life like any other day.

It’s about us not wanting or couldn’t. Old man crossing the road. Strayed cat lying on the road. A group of filthy men crouching behind the bushes. People walking away from what it seems none of their concern.

I thought about this when I was washing the car.

Miss you, Claire. Pretty girls remind me of you but my next line will always be “Claire looks so much better than you” Even when I shop, my mind constantly tell me, this is something Claire would like. Those including pinkness, cuteness, butterflies and glitters. Good luck in that particular 7 weeks. I bet it’s fun!
